An excellent independent overview of LandmarkTrust buildings  |
A source of information and inspiration for all those interested in the historic buildings of the Landmark Trust - a must have for all Landmarkers. As a supplement to the Trusts own handbook it has proved a useful reference work but has equal merit as a book in its own right. Derry Brabbs photography and accompanying text are tantalizingly brief, but the book is none the worse for that, in fact this may well be one of its strongest points. The text is honest, not saccharine. Reading through the pages you get the feeling that Brabbs really does like these buildings and wants you to enjoy them too - which of course you can.Not all Landmarks are included, which is a pity, but as new buildings are continually added to the stock, this would be an impossible task, a clear requirement for Volume II - put my name on the waiting list!
